This week has been the first week in our new home. I'm so glad I finally reached this big goal I set for myself long time ago. Being able to truly enjoy your freedom, experimenting new habits with your boyfriend. Me and Matteo are together from almost 9 years now, I know him like the back of my hand, and vice versa.
Even if being together in a new place 24/7, completely out of your comfort zone, is a little bit weird! The first few days I truly felt like we were in vacation. You know that feeling when you're like 'yay let's do some grocery shopping together' or 'what are we gonna eat tomorrow at lunch?'. Probably it's just me but I didn't feel 100% at home. Talking about it with Matteo, he also felt the same sensation as me. Something that I love about our relationship is that we talk each other so much! I think being open and talk about your feelings, bad or good they may be, set the 90% of a good and long lasting relationship. It's so important being truly open with your mate!
Now that a week has gone by I'm genuinely start feeling truly at HOME. Unpacking, reorganizing things, personalizing spaces/corners and planning some new interior updates together, has really made me feel comfortable and at ease! I'm obsessed with my new bathroom cabinet, it can fit all my skincare bits. hair products and treatments. I bought some cute pot holders, candles and lovely flowers as well. I can't live without flowers around me! I'm so glad we have a little balcony, it's not a huge garden as in my dad house, but can suit perfectly my hydrangeas and roses! I think my collection of plants and flowers will grow a lot this year!
I'm starting to feeling happy now. Not necessary thinking about where I want to be in 20 years, just learning to enjoy the present moment being grateful every single day for what I've got: a place I can call home, a boyfriend, a lovely cat, a job I actually enjoy doing and the most important, a family that support me and the choices I make, whatever they are.
Hope you've enjoyed today's post!
Think about something that makes you truly happy right now.. what is it??
